At Ikai we develop our own surfaces using fabric manipulation techniques like tie and dye, shibori, fabric appliqué, vegan leather appliqué and hand cutting. These beautiful surfaces are then transformed into wearable, practical clothing.
Since the fabrics are natural and hand dyed locally we strictly recommend “dry clean only” for all Ikai clothing. Through the process of turning these natural fabric into surfaces and then beautiful Ikai clothing we dry clean minimum 2-3 times. Once after appliqué to get Neel stains out, second time post stitching to remove any oil from the stitching machine and third time (if needed) before dispatch.
We also recommend “flat ironing” from the reverse side on low temperature preferably with a mulmul fabric.
The garments should also be stored in a cotton bag (the one that comes with your order can be used), away from sunlight for a long healthy life.
We do not guarantee colour bleeds caused due to machine or hand washing of Ikai garments.
